Bean Bag Care Instructions
Ensure Your Bean Bag Lasts for Years
At Mooi Living, our indoor bean bag chairs and poolside loungers are crafted with premium fabrics for durability, style, and comfort. With proper care, you’ll enjoy them for years to come.
Our bean bags are designed for lounging and relaxation and are not suitable for jumping or rough play, as this may compromise their integrity. Following the care guidelines below will help you get the most out of your product while ensuring its longevity.
Outdoor Bean Bags
Our outdoor collection is made with strong, durable Olefin fabric, known for its resistance to stains, abrasions, and weathering. However, even the toughest materials need proper care:
- Keep it shaded: While Olefin fabric is UV-resistant, excessive sunlight can lead to fading. Always store your bean bag in a shaded area in the periods when not in use.
- Stay dry: If your bean bag gets wet, remove the cover and let the inner bag with the filling dry thoroughly in the sun before storing. Consistently damp conditions can lead to mould and mildew.
- Store properly: During seasons of heavy rain or when not in use for extended periods, store your bean bag in a cool, dry place.
- Clean regularly: Use a warm, damp cloth to wipe down the fabric. For bean bags with inner bags, machine wash the inner bag on a gentle cycle and air-dry flat in the shade.
- Avoid chemicals: Do not tumble dry, dry clean, or use harsh cleaning products on the fabric.
Pool Bean Bag Floats
Our luxurious bean bag floats bring comfort to your poolside, but they require some extra attention:
- Not a toy: Bean bag floats are designed for relaxation, not for jumping, diving, or rough play.
- Adult supervision: Always supervise children when using the floats. These are not life-saving devices.
- Heavy when wet: When removing your float from the pool, tilt it with the drainage system facing down and apply light pressure to release water.
- Rinse after use: After each use, rinse the float with fresh water to remove chlorine or salt, and allow it to dry completely in the shade.
- Storage: Remove floats from the pool when not in use and store in a shaded area to prevent prolonged UV exposure and material degradation.
Polyester Indoor / Outdoor Bean Bags
Our Unplug, Universal, and Mini Pod bean bags are versatile and lightweight, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Occasional outdoor use: These bean bags are ideal for picnics or garden lounging but should not be left outside permanently.
- Protect from the elements: Direct sunlight can fade the fabric, and salt water can damage it. Bring your bean bag indoors when not in use.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the surface with a warm, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, sparkling water can help lift marks effectively.
Indoor Bean Bags
Our indoor range is perfect for creating cozy, relaxing spaces in your home. To maintain their quality:
- Clean spills immediately: Use a warm, damp cloth to wipe up any spills. For tougher stains, sparkling water can help.
- Gentle washing: For bean bags with inner bags, remove the cover and machine wash on a gentle cycle only when necessary. Air-dry flat in the shade—never tumble dry.
- Avoid sunlight: Keep your bean bag out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Vacuum regularly: Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming as part of your routine cleaning.
General Care Instructions
- Weekly cleaning: Vacuum your bean bag regularly to keep dirt and dust at bay. Wipe down with a warm, damp cloth and follow with a cool, wet cloth to remove any residue.
- Deep cleaning: For build-up of dirt, use warm soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with a damp cloth and let the bean bag dry completely before use.
Zipper Safety and Protection
To ensure safety, our bean bags are designed without zipper pullers to prevent accidental opening by children. This is Australian law.
- To open the zipper, use a paper clip—do not use pliers, as this may damage the zipper mechanism.
